Explainable Pricing Breakdown

Every rupee on the quote, accounted for.

A figure without reasons invites a phone call. Qwackly prints the reasoning on the quote itself: where the price started, what moved it up, what brought it down and which rule did each, in wording your customer can follow.

Capabilities

What you get out of the box

Line items that add up, visibly

Base rate, coverage factor, risk loading, discounts, add-ons, rounding and tax each get their own line. The total is always the sum of what is shown, so there is nothing hidden between the lines.

Rule reference on every line

Each line carries the ID of the rule that produced it, so your team can trace any figure back to the rate book.

Plain-language summary

Two views, one quote

Customers see clear wording. Your team sees the same lines with rule IDs and factor values.

How it runs

How each contribution is calculated.

The engine records every step as it prices, then turns that record into the breakdown. The explanation is not written after the fact; it is the calculation.

  1. Step 01

    Start from the base

The base rate is read from the rate book for the product, class and coverage level selected.

  2. Step 02

    Apply factors in order

Loadings and discounts run in the sequence you configure. Each one stores its input, its rate and its rupee effect.

  3. Step 03

    Round and tax

Rounding and GST are separate lines, so the customer sees the premium and the tax on it distinctly.

  4. Step 04

    Write it up

The stored steps become the line items, and the AI drafts the plain-language summary from them.

In detail

Two audiences, one breakdown

The customer copy and the internal copy are generated from the same calculation, so they can never disagree.

Questions

Asked by teams like yours

Can we control the wording customers see?
Yes. Each rule has a customer-facing label you can edit. The AI summary uses those labels, so your tone and terminology carry through to every quote.
Does showing the breakdown expose our pricing model?
Customers see the effect of each factor, not your full rate tables or weights. You decide which lines are shown individually and which are grouped.
What if a customer disputes a line?
Your team opens the internal view, sees the exact input and rule behind that line, and can correct the intake answer if it was wrong. The quote re-prices and the new breakdown shows what changed.
Is the breakdown available after the quote converts?
Yes. It stays attached to the policy or service order as part of the record, alongside the rate book version used.
